When Willmeng Construction, an award-winning general contractor, sought to create an unforgettable experience for its annual strategic planning meeting, it turned to Small Giants for a comprehensive solution. The event at The Phoenician marked a milestone in the company’s history: the announcement of its transition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Tasked with designing a cohesive theme, branding, and event experience, Small Giants delivered a seamless and impactful event that inspired attendees and celebrated the company’s growth.

The theme, “Together, We Own the Future,” encapsulated Willmeng’s forward-looking vision while subtly hinting at the ESOP announcement. Small Giants developed a strategic approach that combined creative design, detailed logistics, and immersive branding. The agenda balanced company updates, team-building activities, and breakout sessions, ensuring a meaningful experience for all 300 employees in attendance. The planning process included selecting the venue, coordinating with vendors, and managing day-of logistics to ensure flawless execution.

The creative team at Small Giants crafted a comprehensive brand kit featuring custom illustrations of the regions where Willmeng operates, including the Arizona desert, Colorado mountains, and Utah canyons. These visuals were integrated into large-scale environmental graphics, stage designs, and digital collateral. Custom-designed signage and wayfinding enhanced the attendee experience, with stair graphics, immersive interior displays, and large wall clings. The cohesive aesthetic reflected Willmeng’s growth story while elevating the event’s prestige.

Audio/visual elements played a central role in creating an engaging atmosphere. Dynamic lighting, two large projection screens, and Cold Sparks pyrotechnics brought energy to the main ballroom, while breakout rooms featured tailored AV setups. A custom event app provided attendees with schedules, speaker bios, and venue maps, ensuring a smooth flow throughout the day. The Small Giants team was onsite to oversee setup, troubleshoot, and provide support, ensuring every detail aligned with the client’s vision.
